We are currently recruiting for the following position(s):

Sunstates Security, LLC is a licensed security organization and requires all employees to meet the following hiring requirements:

• Previous law enforcement experience, two years of public safety, two years of private security (large campus or high rise experience preferred), or three years of military experience
• Site Supervisor and Account Manager must possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in private security operations, law enforcement, public safety or the military and at least two years in a supervisory role at a large campus or high rise facility
• Minimum of 18 years of age (21 years of age for some positions)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to effectively speak, read and write English
• Ability to pass a drug screen
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standards
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance
• Ability to comply with the uniform dress code
• Ability to walk several miles a day conducting normal patrol functions and ability to withstand rigorous physical demands
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency locations anywhere on campus while carrying an AED

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Works at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.  Performs a full range of law enforcement functions.  Engages in proactive interaction with travelers, citizens and employees, developing partnerships with the businesses and customers to identify and solve problems that affect quality of life at the Airport.  Responds to security checkpoint alarms, emergencies and requests for assistance.  Patrols, by foot and vehicle, to maintain a safe and pleasant atmosphere for travelers, visitors, tenants and employees.  Directs traffic to prevent congestion.  Prepares reports and records. manner; communicate clearly and effectively in person, over two-way radio and in writing; EMT certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within one year after hire date. Some college level work in police science or related field preferred. One year experience preferred.  Requires a valid driver's license.

Salary:  Minimum $40,136 per year.  Successful candidates with related experience, Associate's or Bachelor's degrees will earn more.

Conditions of Employment: Works assigned shift in a rotating 12-hour schedule (rotates monthly, primarily between6pm - 6am and6am -6pm).  Subject to overtime and attendance during special events, inclement weather and urgent/emergency situations.  Final candidates must pass a pre-employment drug-screening test, physical, psychological and polygraph examinations. 

During the selection process, candidates may be asked to take a skills test, and/or participate in other assessments.  This position requires the ability to obtain a City Driving Permit.  Certain convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude them from employment.Analyzes situations and acts without direct supervision, using independent judgment and discretion in accordance with departmental rules, regulations, laws and ordinances to resolve issues.
